Brighton has agreed to a transfer for Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm in a move valued at £21.5 million. The Premier League club is set to add the highly rated youngster to its squad once the summer transfer window officially opens on June 15.

The 18-year-old is expected to commit to a five-year contract with the Seagulls, completing a move that represents a significant step in his developing career.

The transfer underlines Brighton’s continued investment in emerging talent, with the club identifying Yohanna as a player capable of strengthening its attacking options.

Hurzeler highlights attacking qualities

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed his enthusiasm about working with the winger and pointed to the qualities that convinced the club to pursue the deal.

According to the Brighton manager, Yohanna possesses the ability to influence matches in advanced areas of the pitch and offers attributes that can make a difference in the final third.

Hurzeler also acknowledged that the teenager will require time to adjust to both his new surroundings and the demands of the Premier League. Despite that, he described the player as an exciting prospect whose creativity should appeal to supporters.

Rapid rise in Sweden earns Premier League move

Before joining AIK Stockholm, Yohanna developed at the Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria. His performances since arriving in Sweden have helped establish him as one of the club’s promising young players.

Since making his debut for AIK in August 2025, the winger has contributed five goals and four assists across 18 appearances.

Those displays have now earned him an opportunity to continue his career in England, with Brighton moving quickly to secure his services on a long-term agreement.
