Celtic Complete Club-Record Signing of Kasper Hogh
Celtic have completed the club-record signing of Denmark forward Kasper Hogh from Bodo/Glimt. The 25-year-old joins for a reported £11m fee and has signed a four-year contract with an option for another year. The move makes Hogh Celtic's second summer signing after Camilo Duran. His arrival also follows Daizen Maeda's £10m transfer to Ipswich Town, giving Martin O'Neill another attacking option before the new season begins.
Hogh Completes Record Celtic Move
Celtic confirmed Hogh's arrival on Tuesday, subject to international clearance. The reported £11m fee makes him the most expensive signing in the club's history, surpassing the previous record. Hogh spent two seasons with Bodo/Glimt after joining from Norwegian rivals Stabaek.
He scored 54 goals in 103 appearances for the club, establishing himself as one of their leading attacking players. The Denmark international scored 17 goals and provided five assists in the 2025-26 Eliteserien season. He also played a major role in Bodo/Glimt's Champions League campaign, scoring five goals.
Those European performances included a memorable double in a 3-1 victory over Manchester City. He also scored in a 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid during Bodo/Glimt's run to the last 16.
Champions League Experience
Hogh's European record was a major attraction for Celtic as they looked to strengthen their attack. His five Champions League goals were the joint-most by a Danish player in one campaign. He also recorded eight goal involvements during the competition. That was the most by a Danish player in a single Champions League season, underlining his impact against elite opposition.
Overall, Hogh averaged a goal every other game during his Bodo/Glimt career. His profile suggests a penalty-box striker who can also contribute through defensive work and pressing. The forward said he was excited after seeing the Celtic shirt for the first time. He added that discussions with people around him and his family convinced him the move was the right fit.
"I like to be in the box and score goals," Hogh said. "But I also want to help my team-mates defensively and work hard for the team."
Filling the Maeda Void
Hogh arrives at Celtic following the departure of Maeda, who completed his move to Ipswich after a successful spell in Glasgow. The Japan international scored 79 goals and provided 39 assists in 212 appearances.
Maeda also won 10 major honours with Celtic, including five league titles and five domestic cups. His departure created an attacking vacancy that Hogh will now be expected to help fill. Celtic have already spent heavily on their attack this summer. Hogh's reported £11m fee follows Duran's reported £6m arrival, taking their combined outlay on the two forwards to around £17m.
