Jadon Sancho has been part of a striking sequence across the last three seasons, featuring appearances in three separate major European finals while playing for three different clubs in three different competitions. All of these came during loan spells, despite him remaining under contract with Manchester United.

In total, the 26-year-old has featured in a Champions League final, a Europa Conference League final, and a Europa League final over this period, creating a rare pattern of consistent involvement at the highest stage of European club football.

Each final also came while he was temporarily representing a different side, rather than his parent club.

Dortmund's Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid

During a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in the 2023/24 season, Sancho played in the Champions League final. Dortmund were beaten in that match by Real Madrid.

That appearance marked the first of the three consecutive seasons in which he would feature in a major European final for a different team.

Conference League success with Chelsea

A year later, Sancho was part of the Chelsea side that won the Europa Conference League under Enzo Maresca. In the final against Real Betis, Chelsea came from behind to secure a 4–1 victory.

Sancho contributed directly in the match by scoring the third goal, adding a decisive moment to the club’s comeback win.

Europa league appearance with Aston Villa

Most recently, Sancho featured as a late substitute in the Europa League final in which Aston Villa defeated SC Freiburg 3–0.

That appearance completed his sequence of three finals across three seasons, each with a different club and in a different European competition.

Contract situation and future interest

With his contract set to expire in the summer, Sancho’s unusual run of European final appearances has added to speculation that clubs across Europe could be interested in acquiring him ahead of the next season.
