Bayern consider Vlahovic while prioritizing wide options in transfer market

Bayern Munich have demonstrated remarkable efficiency in front of goal throughout the current campaign. The German side has already netted 113 times in the Bundesliga, leaving them just 12 goals short of equaling the record for most goals scored in a single season across Europe’s top five leagues. Their attacking output has been consistent and relentless, underlining their superiority in domestic competition.

This attacking momentum has also carried into European football. In the Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid, Bayern secured an impressive 6-4 aggregate victory. The team’s offensive depth has been evident, with multiple players contributing in decisive moments across both legs of the tie.

A key figure in this attacking success has been Harry Kane, who has led the scoring charts and featured prominently in almost every match. His regular presence in the starting lineup has ensured continuity and reliability in Bayern’s forward line, while others have supported him effectively throughout the season.

Squad changes and Jackson’s departure

Looking ahead, Bayern will have one less option in attack following the decision not to make Nicolas Jackson’s move permanent. Sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that the Senegalese forward will return to Chelsea after completing his loan spell in Munich.

Jackson’s role this season has largely been that of a backup to Kane. Limited opportunities meant he accumulated just over 1,000 minutes of playing time, as Kane remained the preferred choice in the starting eleven. Despite this, Jackson delivered a respectable contribution during his time with the club.

With his departure confirmed, Bayern are expected to consider bringing in another forward who can provide depth and step in when needed. The club’s recruitment strategy appears focused on identifying a player capable of complementing their existing attacking structure.

Vlahovic emerges as a potential option

One of the names being monitored is Dusan Vlahovic, who could become available in the summer. Reports suggest that the Serbian striker may leave Juventus on a free transfer if he does not agree to a contract extension within the next six weeks. AC Milan are also reportedly interested in securing his signature.

Vlahovic’s current season has been disrupted by injuries, which have sidelined him for 25 matches. As a result, he has only managed 886 minutes of action, during which he recorded six goals and two assists. While these numbers fall short of expectations, they come in the context of limited availability.

There remains a belief that, if he can return to his previous level, Vlahovic could represent a valuable addition. Signing a player of his profile without a transfer fee would be seen as a smart move, provided the financial terms are manageable for the club.

Wider transfer priorities and Gordon interest

Despite monitoring options for the central forward role, Bayern’s main focus for the upcoming transfer window lies elsewhere. The club is prioritizing the addition of a wide player to strengthen the left side of their attack and improve overall squad depth.

At the same time, Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has emerged as the leading attacking target for Bayern. His potential arrival would further enhance the team’s offensive capabilities and provide additional flexibility in forward positions.

It remains uncertain whether Bayern will pursue multiple attacking reinforcements. Much will depend on how negotiations for Gordon develop and whether the club decides to expand its search beyond a single addition in the final third.
