PSG cruises to victory as Dembélé leads the way

Paris Saint-Germain continued its strong scoring run with a composed 3–1 victory over Toulouse, extending its advantage at the top of Ligue 1 to four points. The fixture was scheduled earlier than usual to allow the Paris club additional rest ahead of its upcoming Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool at the Parc des Princes. Entering the match in prolific form, PSG had already netted 12 times across its previous three outings.

The breakthrough arrived midway through the first half when Ousmane Dembélé produced a stunning finish, striking a volley from the edge of the penalty area into the upper corner. Despite PSG’s control, Toulouse responded quickly. A dangerous in-swinging corner caused problems for goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who failed to gather the ball cleanly, allowing Rasmus Nicolaisen to capitalize and head in the equalizer from close range.

PSG did not allow the setback to disrupt its rhythm. The home side maintained attacking pressure and regained the lead before the interval. From a corner situation, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia flicked the ball onward, and Dembélé reacted fastest to guide it over the line, restoring the advantage.

Second-half control and late confirmation

After the break, PSG dictated play and limited Toulouse’s opportunities, keeping possession and pushing forward in search of further goals. Dembélé thought he had completed his hat trick during this period, but the effort was ruled out for offside, denying him a third contribution on the scoresheet.

Despite sustained dominance, the third goal did not arrive until stoppage time. Substitute Gonçalo Ramos sealed the result with a precise right-footed strike from distance, ensuring the margin reflected PSG’s superiority throughout the match.

The victory strengthened PSG’s position in the standings, placing it four points ahead of Lens. Meanwhile, Lens was set to face Lille in the Derby du Nord, while Toulouse remained in ninth place following the defeat.
