Turkey began the match with intent and attacking energy. They created early opportunities through Kenan Yildiz and Hakan Calhanoglu. Kosovo, however, showed resilience and looked dangerous on the counter.

The defining moment came with Akturkoglu’s composed finish early in the second half. Cakir’s first-half save from Asllani was equally important in preserving parity. Without that intervention, the match could have taken a different turn. Yildiz’s creativity and movement caused constant problems for Kosovo’s defence. Akturkoglu’s positioning and awareness ensured he was in the right place at the right time.
Defensively, Turkey showed discipline and focus in the closing stages. Kosovo’s effort and energy were clear, but they lacked the final touch.
Turkey will now compete at the World Cup for the first time since 2002. They have been drawn in Group D alongside the United States, Paraguay and Australia.
