Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculation linking him with Real Madrid, calling the reports “nonsense.” The former Liverpool FC boss insisted there has been no contact from the Spanish giants. He made the comments during a media appearance in Munich.
Klopp was recently tipped to replace current Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa whose contract ends in June 2027. However, the German made it clear no approach has been made. He even joked that such a call would not go unnoticed.
Despite shutting down the rumours, Klopp left the door open for a future return to management. He stressed that retirement is not yet on his mind.
Klopp stepped down from Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season. His departure came after nearly nine years in charge at Anfield. He cited a lack of energy as the main reason for his decision.
Since leaving the dugout, Klopp has taken up a role as head of global football with Red Bull. The position allows him to remain involved in the sport without daily coaching duties. It also gives him time away from the intense demands of management.
