The deadlock was broken immediately after the restart. In the 46th minute, the Ivorian forward capitalized on a misplaced back pass from the opposition, racing through to outpace the onrushing goalkeeper and slot home the opener.
Traore struck again seven minutes later to strengthen his side’s grip on the contest. The attacker maneuvered past several defenders inside the penalty area before firing a low effort beyond the left post for his second of the evening.
Al Ahli’s task became more difficult in the 72nd minute when Erik Exposito was sent off for elbowing Al Shahania’s Artur Jorge, reducing his team to ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Al Ahli responded and narrowed the gap in the 81st minute. Julian Draxler reacted quickest after a goalkeeper parry from a free-kick, converting the rebound to bring his side back into contention.
Tensions flared deep into stoppage time when Al Shahania’s Khaled Muftah received a red card in the 90+6th minute for a foul, ensuring both teams finished the encounter with ten players.
