Brentford extend Keith Andrews contract until 2032

Brentford have confirmed that head coach Keith Andrews has agreed to a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2032.

Brentford have confirmed that head coach Keith Andrews has agreed to a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2032.

The 45-year-old stepped into the role in June after previously working as the team’s set-piece specialist, succeeding Thomas Frank in west London.

Since taking over, Andrews has overseen an impressive campaign, with the Bees climbing to seventh place in the Premier League standings and pushing for a potential first-ever qualification for European competition.

Andrews determined to justify club’s faith

Reflecting on his appointment, Andrews admitted he understood why some observers may have questioned the decision to promote him following Frank’s seven-year spell, which included promotion to the top flight.

He said that, from an outside perspective, the transition might have raised doubts, particularly with a set-piece coach moving into the top job.

However, Andrews stressed that he approached the opportunity with humility and dedication, focusing on proving to himself that he could meet the demands of the position.

Club hierarchy praise early progress

Director of football Phil Giles described Andrews as an excellent match for the organisation after what he called an outstanding first season in charge.

Giles revealed that although Andrews initially signed a three-year agreement last summer, there was always a plan to reassess the situation quickly.

With the team’s development over the opening months of the campaign, the club decided to finalise the extension within nine months.

Brentford are back in league action on Saturday when they welcome Burnley.
