The contest burst into life shortly after the interval when Edmilson Junior found the net in the 47th minute. He punished defensive hesitation, firing a left-footed effort from the right side of the area to give his side the advantage.
However, the lead proved short-lived. Just five minutes later, Yousef Ayman inadvertently redirected a diagonal delivery from Akram Afif into his own goal while trying to clear, restoring parity for Al Sadd.
Momentum quickly swung in favour of The Wolves following the equaliser. Rafa Mujica put them ahead in the 54th minute, completing a swift turnaround that stunned their opponents.
Al Sadd continued to press and maintained control as the match progressed, looking dangerous whenever they advanced.
The decisive blow arrived in the 83rd minute when Giovani Henrique finished off a precise pass from Afif. His composed effort extended the advantage and secured the three points for the visitors.
The outcome strengthened Al Sadd’s position at the summit of the standings, lifting them to 38 points.
Al Duhail, known as The Red Knights, remained on 21 points following the defeat.
