Fulham have completed a £27m move for Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb on a long term deal as Marco Silva adds pace and depth.
Fulham have completed the signing of Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for £27m. The Norway winger has agreed a five-and-a-half-year contract at Craven Cottage. He will wear the number 14 shirt and joins before the transfer deadline. City have retained a 20 percent sell on clause and matching rights.
Bobb described the move as an easy decision after speaking with Marco Silva. He also consulted Norway team mate Sander Berge before agreeing terms. Fulham moved quickly to strengthen wide areas after recent departures. The deal represents one of the club’s biggest recent investments.
Marco Silva made a winger signing a January priority. Adama Traore has already left for West Ham. Harry Wilson is also likely to leave on a free in the summer. Bobb offers pace, close control, and tactical flexibility across the frontline.
Fulham sit seventh in the Premier League after winning six of their last seven matches. They beat Brighton 2-1 last weekend to maintain momentum. Silva believes Bobb fits the club’s long term project. The focus will be building his match sharpness after injury setbacks.
Bobb is a graduate of the Manchester City academy. He made 47 senior appearances across all competitions. He scored three goals and provided four assists during that spell. His Premier League debut came in the 2023 season.
This season, Bobb featured 15 times for City without scoring. Nine of those appearances were starts. He last played on 17 December in the Carabao Cup against Brentford. He was forced off inside 20 minutes with a hamstring issue.
Bobb slipped down the pecking order after City signed Antoine Semenyo in January. Pep Guardiola admitted the player was open to leaving. Borussia Dortmund were also monitoring his situation. City were willing sellers but protected their future interest.
The transfer continues City’s trend of monetising academy talent. Fulham gain a Premier League ready winger with upside. At 22, Bobb remains a developing player with international experience. He has featured six times for Norway this year.
Bobb is comfortable on either flank and can operate between the lines. He prefers receiving on the half turn and attacking full backs. His close control suits Fulham’s positional play under Silva. He is expected to rotate with Harry Wilson and Emile Smith Rowe.
Physically, Fulham will manage his reintegration carefully. He missed almost all of last season with a fractured leg. Staff are confident the issues are behind him. The focus is building rhythm and confidence.
Fulham travel to Manchester United this weekend. Bobb is unlikely to start but could feature from the bench. Silva stressed patience rather than immediate impact. The club remain in contention for European qualification.
Bobb will hope regular football helps secure his Norway place. The World Cup is approaching quickly. Fulham are betting on talent and timing aligning.
