Paris Saint Germain began their Coupe de France title defence with a comfortable 4-0 win over Vendée Fontenay. The holders eased past the fifth-tier side in the round of 64. Goals in both halves ensured there was no upset at Stade de la Beaujoire. PSG booked their place in the last 32 without major difficulty.
Luis Enrique named a strong lineup despite the gulf in quality. His side controlled possession from the opening minutes. Fontenay defended deep and looked to frustrate early on. PSG remained patient and composed.
PSG dominated the opening exchanges and pinned Fontenay back. Gonçalo Ramos headed over inside ten minutes from an early cross. Désiré Doué also tested the defence with sharp movement between the lines. The breakthrough eventually arrived in the 25th minute.

Ramos was the clear standout with two well taken goals. He finished the match with six shots and constant movement. Dembélé also impressed with a goal and an assist. Doué’s composure in front of goal set the tone early.
Fontenay earned credit for their spirit and work rate. Renou made several saves to prevent a heavier scoreline. PSG also handed minutes to younger players late on. Luis Enrique was able to manage workloads comfortably.
PSG recorded 14 shots and generated an expected goals figure of 3.92. Fontenay managed five attempts with two on target. The hosts produced an xG of just 0.36. PSG have now scored four or more goals in 22 matches this year.
Ramos has 10 goals in all competitions this season. PSG also recorded their 50th win of the calendar year. It is the highest total by any Ligue 1 side in 2025.
