Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers signs a new deal until 2031, making him one of the club’s top earners amid interest from Premier League rivals.
Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers has agreed to a new six-year contract that will keep him at Villa Park until 2031. The deal rewards his impressive rise under Unai Emery and makes him one of the club’s highest-paid players.
The England international’s previous contract ran until 2030, but his new deal features improved terms that reflect both his growing importance and his value in the transfer market. Rogers had attracted interest from Premier League and European clubs, but Villa acted swiftly to secure their 23-year-old star’s future.
Rogers joined Aston Villa from Middlesbrough in 2024 in a deal worth up to £16 million. Since then, he has been a revelation, contributing 18 goals and 20 assists in 85 appearances. His creative link-up play and driving runs have made him central to Emery’s attacking system.
His performances at club level also earned him a first England call-up in November 2024. Since then, he has become a regular feature in Thomas Tuchel’s squad, even starting ahead of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham in recent fixtures.
Unai Emery has challenged Rogers to push on after signing his new deal. Speaking after Villa’s Europa League match against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, the manager said he expects Rogers to build on last season’s success.
“Every player needs the structure to feel confident,” Emery said. “Morgan is improving because he feels comfortable and confident to show his power and qualities. We want him to surpass the numbers he had last season.”
England boss Tuchel has also been vocal in his admiration. After England’s 3-0 win over Wales last month, he described Rogers as “humble, physical, and capable of both scoring and assisting,” adding that the forward “deservedly won young player of the season.”
After a slow start to the 2025–26 campaign, Rogers has rediscovered his spark in recent weeks. His equalizer against Tottenham in October was a reminder of his composure in front of goal and his importance in clutch moments.
So far this season, he has registered one goal and three assists in 15 appearances across all competitions. Those numbers may not match last season’s 30 goal contributions, but his influence on Villa’s attacking tempo remains vital.
Rogers’ powerful dribbling, vision, and defensive work rate have set him apart as one of the Premier League’s most complete young forwards. With the new contract signed, he now has the platform to continue developing into a key figure for both club and country.
Aston Villa, currently 11th in the Premier League, host Bournemouth at Villa Park this Sunday before the international break. After that, Rogers could feature for England in their World Cup qualifiers against Serbia on November 13thand Albania on November 16th. After the international break, Villa play Leeds United before resuming European duties when they host Young Boys at Villa park on November 27th.
