Cairo powerhouse Ahly confirmed on Wednesday that they have completed the recruitment of fullback Ahmed Eid from Masry, adding depth to their rearguard on a long-term agreement.
The 25-year-old has committed to a contract lasting three and a half seasons, extending his stay with the reigning Egyptian title holders through to the summer of 2029.
Club officials also revealed that Eid has been included on both the domestic roster and the African competition list, allowing him to feature immediately if selected.
As a result, the newcomer is available for Friday’s CAF Champions League group encounter at home against Tanzanian outfit Young Africans.
Ahly’s management have been eager to reinforce their defensive unit after a campaign in which the side allowed 13 goals across 12 league outings.
Strengthening the backline became a priority as the season progressed, prompting action during the January transfer period.
Eid’s arrival is viewed as part of a broader effort to stabilise performances at the back and improve overall solidity.
The timing of the signing also provides the coaching staff with additional options during a busy run of domestic and continental matches.
Before making the switch, Eid enjoyed a solid period with Port Said-based Masry, joining them from Zamalek without a transfer fee in 2023.
Across his spell on the coast, the right-sided defender featured in 39 matches and supplied two assists.
On the international stage, he has represented Egypt on six occasions, including a goalless draw with Angola during the AFCON 2025 group phase held in Morocco.
His transfer represents Ahly’s third piece of business in the current winter window, following the earlier additions of forward Marwan Othman from Ceramica Cleopatra and defender Amr El-Gazar from NBE Club.
