Al Ahli claimed an emphatic 4-2 success against Al Shamal during Week 12 of the 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League, with Wednesday’s contest unfolding at Al Thumama Stadium.

The outcome strengthened Al Ahli’s campaign as they continued to gather momentum midway through the season.

For Al Shamal, the setback halted progress after arriving in the fixture positioned near the summit of the table.

Sekou steals the spotlight early on

Oumar Sekou set the tone almost immediately, forcing his way through heavy pressure before rolling the ball into an unguarded goal just three minutes after kickoff.

Only six minutes later, the forward struck again, capitalising on defensive hesitation to widen the gap and underline Al Ahli’s sharp opening spell.

Despite the early blows, Al Shamal found a response through Alex Collado, who reduced the deficit in the seventh minute to restore some balance to the match.

Second-half drama seals the outcome

Michel Vlap added another decisive contribution in the 22nd minute, extending Al Ahli’s advantage before the interval.

After the restart, Mohammed Rafik Omar pulled one back in the 49th minute, briefly reviving Al Shamal’s hopes of a turnaround.

However, Sekou completed his treble in the 74th minute, confirming the win and lifting the Brigadiers to 15 points with a fifth triumph of the campaign, while Al Shamal stayed on 21 points despite the loss.
