Although the referee initially disallowed the effort due to a suspected issue earlier in the move, video review intervened. Following a VAR assessment, the decision was overturned and the goal was confirmed.
Al Rayyan extended their advantage just before halftime through Roger Guedes. The forward struck in first-half stoppage time, ensuring his side entered the interval with a comfortable lead.
Guedes later added his second contribution late in the contest. His 86th-minute finish effectively sealed the result and underlined his influence on the outcome.
