Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has promised Chelsea fans that the team will bounce back to win their final game of 2025 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues will host AFC Bournemouth to close out 2025, after failing to keep all three points in London when Aston Villa from Birmingham to fight for them. They went ahead thanks to a goal from João Pedro in the 37th minute and dominated most of the game. However, a blurry second-half spell where they were unable to find their feet led to Villa hitting them twice and taking all three points back home. The loss continued a poor run for Chelsea, which started after their UEFA Champions League victory against Barcelona, and continued an amazing run for Villa, who had not won this many games at a go in their history as a football club. The fans made their feelings known to both the team and to the coaching staff led by Enzo Maresca, who had previously alluded to not enjoying the support of the management in recent weeks.Caicedo, who has been a fan favourite for his performances despite the Blues' poor run, came out to reassure fans who will be at Stamford Bridge on 30th December and who will be watching from home that Chelsea will not end the year winless.“It’s painful because we were controlling the game,” admitted Caicedo. “The first half was so good, and we started the second half well and could have won, even after the first goal they scored.“For sure we were frustrated because we were doing a great job, but when you do not concentrate for the whole game in the Premier League, it’s going to happen."We need to keep learning from this because we were there, up, but in the Premier League you need to be consistent to stay up. So we need to keep learning. This is not just a loss, it’s a chance to learn, and for sure we’re going to come back even stronger.“It’s important for us, for the fans, to end the year in a good way. So we’re just going to learn from this and focus on the next game because we want to give everything.”Meanwhile, reports have it that Chelsea are going to abandon their transfer policy for their winter transfer forays into the market. Maresca had previously made a point of the team being young and inexperienced, and those comments seem to have reached the appropriate quarters.
