Arsenal are considering selling Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal have once again been drawn into transfer speculation surrounding Gabriel Martinelli, following fresh reporting from Turkey that suggests a significant internal shift at the north London club. New claims indicate the winger could be part of an early reshaping strategy rather than a reactive sale.

Arsenal have once again been drawn into transfer speculation surrounding Gabriel Martinelli, following fresh reporting from Turkey that suggests a significant internal shift at the north London club. New claims indicate the winger could be part of an early reshaping strategy rather than a reactive sale.

Arsenal’s internal stance on Martinelli

According to journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu speaking on FutbolArena, Arsenal have already reached a private conclusion regarding Martinelli’s future. The report claims the club are no longer waiting for approaches and have instead begun communicating directly with other teams about the Brazilian’s status.

Hamzaoglu emphasised that this situation differs from the usual transfer narrative. Rather than responding to outside interest, Arsenal are allegedly taking the initiative by presenting the player as available, alongside other squad members earmarked for potential exits.

The journalist added that this approach forms part of a broader plan to reduce the squad, with Martinelli included among the names being circulated discreetly within football networks.

Turkish connections and the Fenerbahce angle

From the Turkish perspective, Fenerbahce have been mentioned as a possible recipient of that message. Hamzaoglu explained that a prominent intermediary from Turkey, known for close links with clubs in England, recently held discussions with an Arsenal sporting executive.

During those exchanges, Arsenal reportedly outlined their intention to move Martinelli on. The journalist suggested that informal communication may already have taken place between Arsenal officials and Fenerbahce representatives, given the existing relationship between the two organisations.

Hamzaoglu also stated that his information originated from an individual closely connected to Arsenal’s decision-making structure, a point that has strengthened the credibility of the report within Turkish media.

Financial hurdles and early-stage discussions

Despite the connection, the same source cast doubt on whether a transfer is realistic. Martinelli is described as a costly asset, both in terms of valuation and wages, which presents a major challenge for Turkish clubs.

The report further noted that interest from Saudi Arabia could complicate matters, increasing demand and pushing the overall price higher. Because of this, Hamzaoglu questioned whether Fenerbahce would be capable of advancing beyond preliminary contact.

While the player’s name has been presented to the Istanbul club, the journalist stopped short of claiming that official negotiations are underway. Arsenal, for their part, have made no public statement on the issue.

Even so, Martinelli remains a Brazil international in his mid-twenties, under contract and viewed as an asset with market value. The indication that Arsenal are already sounding out sporting directors suggests planning ahead rather than responding to pressure.

For now, the situation fits a familiar early-window pattern. Quiet exchanges are taking place, intermediaries are gauging reactions, and options are being explored behind the scenes. Whether these talks progress or disappear, the fact that Martinelli is already part of such conversations offers insight into Arsenal’s thinking as the next transfer period approaches.
