Just moments after the sending-off, Qatar SC capitalized on their numerical advantage. In the 41st minute, Pedro brought the ball down with his chest before finishing with an improvised reverse kick to give his side the lead.
The goal gave Qatar SC control going into halftime, while Al Gharafa was forced to regroup and reorganize after the setback.
Despite the disadvantage, Al Gharafa returned after the break determined to turn the game around. Their persistence paid off in the 60th minute when Yacine Brahimi converted a penalty to level the score.
The equalizer boosted the team’s confidence, as they began to control possession and push forward with greater intent. Brahimi’s composure from the spot reignited belief among the players and supporters alike.
Even with 10 men, Al Gharafa kept pressing for the winner, showing remarkable discipline in defense and quick transitions in attack.
